Road Closure: Base Line Road West between Cotswold Gate and McGregor Avenue

Base Line Road West between Cotswold Gate and McGregor Avenue will be closed beginning Tuesday, June 29 until approximately the end of the day on Thursday, July 1. The road will then be reopened but still experience temporary lane restrictions from July 2 to the end of the day on July 9.

This closure is to allow crews to construct a new sewer and waterline at 122 Base Line Road West as part of London’s newest affordable housing development.

This new four-storey, 61-unit building comprised of 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom units, is being built by London’s own EllisDon Corporation, and it will provide much needed affordable rental housing for Londoners. Signage will be placed in the area to help drivers navigate around the road closure.

Sidewalks at 122 Base Line Road West will also be temporarily closed at times during construction. Pedestrians are asked to look for navigational signage if walking through the area.

Businesses remain open and accessible while this work is completed, and access to driveways will be maintained for residents.

Transit riders are advised to review the LTC detour if their route is impacted.

Motorists traveling through this area should expect delays while construction is underway. Drivers are reminded to give themselves a little extra time when traveling, and to consider downloading the Waze app for assistance finding an alternate route.
