Reduced Lanes: Wellington Street between York Street and Dundas Street

Starting next week, there will be reduced lanes on Wellington Street between York Street and Dundas Street, as crews prepare the area for upcoming construction in the Wellington to Waterloo block of the East London Link project. The reduced traffic lanes are expected to be in place for approximately six months.

Drivers can expect delays and are encouraged to use alternative routes where possible. Drivers can plan ahead by using the Waze app, which has all the latest construction traffic impact information directly from the City’s Renew website.

North-south pedestrian traffic will be maintained on at least one side of the intersection throughout the work.

Northbound and southbound transit stops on Wellington Street between York Street and Dundas Street will be temporarily closed during this work. Transit users are advised to visit the LTC website for the latest service updates and detour information.

The East London Link is a multi-year project that will revitalize more than 6 km of road from Downtown to Fanshawe College. The project will add transportation and transit improvements above ground, while repairing and replacing aging sewers, watermains and other underground infrastructure.
