Starting Wednesday, August 16, Oxford Street West will be reduced to one lane in each direction through the Platt’s Lane/Woodward Avenue intersection until early October, for underground and infrastructure work, as part of the Platts Lane Infrastructure Renewal Project.
Drivers can expect delays through the area and are advised to use alternative routes where possible. To help keep traffic moving as smoothly as possible, drivers are encouraged to fill both lanes to the point where the lane closure begins, and then “zipper merge” into the open lane.
Pedestrian access will be maintained through the area. One eastbound and one westbound transit stop to the west of Platt’s Lane/Woodward Avenue will be closed for the duration of the traffic impacts.

About the Platt’s Lane Infrastructure Renewal Project
The City of London is reconstructing Platt's Lane from Cherryhill Place to Oxford Street West to replace aging infrastructure that has met its expected lifecycle, adding new upgraded watermain, sanitary and storm sewer. Construction is expected to last until late fall 2023 with some minor clean-up work and asphalt paving in spring 2024.
