Quebec Street reopening between Elias Street and Mornington Avenue this evening

Quebec Street will reopen to traffic between Elias Street and Mornington Avenue by this evening, marking substantial completion of construction in this section of the Quebec Street Infrastructure Renewal Project.

Salisbury Street, which was converted to temporary two-way traffic between Quebec Street and Glasgow Street to support road users traveling during construction, will return to one-way traffic today.

New left turn lanes have been added on Quebec Street at Salisbury Street, Mornington Avenue, and Elias Street.

Construction is ongoing north of the Mornington Avenue intersection to Oxford Street, and this section of Quebec Street is expected to reopen upon completion in October, weather permitting.

Lane restrictions will be in place on Oxford Street East through the Quebec Street intersection until the project is complete; however, traffic signal optimization will be maintained to support traffic flow.

Bike lanes on both sides of Quebec Street are defined with temporary markings until top asphalt and bollards can be added in late spring of 2024.

Traffic calming measures will remain in place on nearby residential streets, and drivers are reminded to follow posted speed limits and watch for other road users.

About the Quebec Street Infrastructure Renewal Project
