Pool at Oakridge Arena begins to reopen on a modified basis

The City of London will reopen the outdoor pool at Oakridge Arena beginning Monday, August 2. The facility will be offering recreation swim times for residents, and staff are continuing to assess if additional programs can be offered this summer.

As a reminder, registration is required for all aquatic programs and can be booked online or by calling 519-661-5575.

For the past 16 months, Oakridge Arena was being used as a COVID-19 assessment centre. When the testing centre closed on July 16, City staff began transitioning the facility back to a community centre and have been completing necessary maintenance to prepare for aquatic programs.

Hours at the Oakridge Arena pool will be limited as it reopens, with recreation swim times available from Monday to Friday between 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. as well as Sundays between 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

The South London Community Pool and the Canada Games Aquatic Centre continue to be open for lane swimming and aqua fitness classes. In addition, recreational swimming and swim lessons will begin to be offered at these two facilities beginning August 2.

Spray pads, wading pools, and other outdoor pools also continue to be open. For hours, locations and to register for programs, please visit london.ca/aquatics

All Middlesex-London Health Unit guidelines and Provincial regulations, including mask requirements, adhering to capacity limits and physical distancing, will apply at all times.
