Lane restrictions: Wellington Road at Watson Street

Wellington Road at Watson Street will experience temporary lane restrictions on Thursday, September 9, Friday, September 10, and Monday, September 13.

Reduced lanes will be in place while crews connect the new storm sewer on Watson Street to the existing storm sewer on Wellington Road, as part of the Watson Street infrastructure renewal project.

A minimum of one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction on Wellington Road for the duration of this work; however, commuters are advised to give themselves additional time when travelling through the area as major delays are expected during this work.

Sidewalk access will be maintained during this work, though pedestrians may experience intermittent sidewalk closures and restrictions.

Motorists are encouraged to check if their commute will be impacted, and to plan ahead by using the Waze app.

The lane restrictions on Wellington Road are expected to be in place throughout the day on Thursday, Friday and Monday (September 9, 10 and 13, respectively), but will be removed over the weekend (September 11 and 12). Construction on Watson Street is expected to last until mid-fall 2021.
