Grand Avenue will be closed between Wellington Road and Belgrave Avenue for emergency repairs on Monday, November 27

Grand Avenue will be closed to through traffic between Wellington Road and Belgrave Avenue on Monday, November 27, while City of London crews complete emergency work on a maintenance hole in the road. LTC buses will be permitted through the area to maintain transit service, and pedestrians will also have continued access while work is underway.

Increased traffic on Grand Avenue over the past year has taken its toll on a brick maintenance hole located mid-block between Belgrave Avenue and Wellington Road, and immediate repairs are needed.

We recognize this temporary closure will be a challenge due to other nearby traffic restrictions for construction projects in the area, and our aim is to minimize its impacts as much as possible. Instead of fully replacing the maintenance hole, which requires a road closure of several days, an interim solution will be implemented on Monday and further improvements will be made at a later time when there is less nearby construction impacting the area.
