City of London reminding residents to stay off all bodies of water

With continued warmer temperatures and rain forecasted over the next few days, the City of London is reminding residents to stay clear and off of all bodies of water, including stormwater management ponds. Any remaining ice cover is unstable and has been weakened.

The London area can expect positive temperatures and rain over the next few days. Banks adjacent to rivers and creeks are very slippery and, when combined with cold, fast-moving water, pose a serious hazard.

Parents are encouraged to keep their children and pets away from all watercourses and off of frozen water bodies.
