1345 Cranbrook Road and 1005 Longworth Road (Blocks 28 & 29 Plan 33M-657); located west and north of the intersection of Cranbrook Road and Longworth Road The purpose and effect of this application to change the zoning from an Urban Reserve UR2 Zone which permits a range of uses such as existing dwellings, agricultural uses (except for mushroom farms, commercial greenhouses, livestock facilities, and manure storage facilities), conservation lands, and passive recreation uses on lots having a minimum lot area of 6 hectares or as existing on the date of passage of the by-law, whichever is less, and minimum lot frontage of 40 metres or as existing on the date of passage of the by-law, whichever is less, to a Residential R1 (R1-8) Zone which permits single detached dwellings on lots having a minimum lot area of 600 square metres and minimum lot frontage of 15 metres. The purpose and effect of this zone change is to facilitate the creation of eight (8) single detached dwelling lots fronting Cranbrook Road and Longworth Road. If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the City of London before the proposed amendment is adopted or approved, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.

The Committee of Adjustment for the City of London will meet on Thursday, April 21, 2022, commencing at 1:30 p.m., for the purpose of hearing the following applications for Minor Variance to Zoning By-law Z.-1. City Council is seeking applications from individuals interested in being considered for appointment to fill two (2) vacancies on the London and Middlesex Community Housing (LMCH) Board of Directors for a 2-year term. 
Individuals applying to fill the vacancies should represent a range of relevant expertise including the following:

  • Knowledge of the field of social housing, including the legislative and regulatory environment governing social housing
  • Financial and legal knowledge
  • Experience in asset management, building sciences, construction, land development
  • Property management
  • Community development
  • Labour relations
  • Lived experience
  • Corporate governance, including strategic planning, human resources
  • Tenant support for individuals with unique needs (e.g. mental health, addictions, accessibility, violence, trauma, etc.)

Notice for Public Participation Meeting regarding the draft Climate Emergency Action Plan at Strategic Priorities and Policy Committee on April 5, 2022:
The Strategic Priorities and Policy Committee will consider the following matter at a Public Participation Meeting to be held Tuesday, April 5, 2022: the draft Climate Emergency Action Plan (CEAP).


Items not to be heard before 4:05 p.m.


The City of London has declared a Climate Emergency and on February 8, 2022, a draft community-based Climate Emergency Action Plan (CEAP) was presented to Council’s Strategic Priorities and Policy Committee. A Public Participation Meeting will be held at Council’s Strategic Priorities and Policy Committee meeting on April 5, 2022 to receive community feedback and input to inform Council decision-making.  
The proposed CEAP is a community-wide plan to achieve three main goals: 

  1. Net-zero community greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2050 
  2. Improved resilience to climate change impacts 
  3. Bring everyone along (e.g., individuals, households, businesses, neighbourhoods) 
     

 The CEAP includes ten Area of Focus implementation workplans with actions that address the majority of climate change mitigation (reducing greenhouse gas emissions) and adaptation (improving resilience to climate change impacts) aspects that are relevant to London. The full draft CEAP, Area of Focus workplans and supporting documents are available to view at London’s Get Involved website: getinvolved.london.ca/climate

Residents would like to address Council directly, can make submissions for the Strategic Priorities and Policy Committee Agenda Written submissions regarding this matter to be included on the Strategic Priorities and Policy Committee Agenda are to be submitted no later than 9:00 a.m. on Monday, March 28, 2022 either delivered or mailed to the City Clerk’s Office, Room 308, 300 Dufferin Avenue, P.O.
