NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING

The Planning and Environment Committee will consider the following matters at a Public Participation Meeting to be held Monday, February 8, 2021.  During the COVID-19 emergency, Standing Committee and Council Meetings are virtual meetings hosted in City Hall, Council Chambers. Participation of some Council Members and staff will be virtual.  Meetings can be viewed via live-streaming on YouTube and the City website.  There is additional information on the City of London website www.london.ca about Public Participation Meetings, during the Covid-19 emergency. 3195 White Oak Road – The purpose and effect of this zoning change is to permit four single detached dwelling lots. Possible change to Zoning By-law Z.-1 FROM a from a Holding Urban Reserve Special Provision (h-94*UR4(11)) and an Urban Reserve (UR4)  Zone TO a Residential R1 Special Provision (R1-3(21)) Zone to permit single detached dwellings with a minimum lot frontage 10m and a lot area of 300 square meters, with a special provision to ensure garages shall not project beyond the façade of the dwelling or façade (front face) of any porch, and shall not occupy more than 50% of lot frontage. 3087 White Oak Road; located on the west side of White Road; approximately 0.918 hectares – The purpose and effect of this application is to approve a Draft Plan of Vacant Land Condominium consisting of 47 residential units in one (1) block.  Consideration of a proposed draft plan consisting of 47 townhouse dwelling units and a common element for private access driveway and services to be registered as one Condominium Corporation. 185 Horton Street East - The purpose and effect of this zoning change is to permit a, 3-storey and 16-storey dormitory, for a total of 209 units, 296 beds and a density of (389uph). Possible change to Zoning By-law Z.-1 FROM Arterial Commercial Special Provision (AC4(11))  Zone TO an Arterial Commercial Special Provision Bonus Zone (AC4(__)/B__) Zone to permit a dormitory with 209 units and 296 beds with a density of 389 units per hectare. Special provisions to the AC4 Zone would permit a new definition of “Dormitory” applying only to the subject property reading means “a building or structure where residents have exclusive use of a bedroom but common facilities such as washrooms, kitchens, and common areas, and where each resident individually compensates the owner for providing the accommodation.” Increase maximum building height to 50.4m, a minimum rear yard setback of 5.50m, minimum east interior side yard setback of 2.37m, minimum west interior side yard setback of 0.98m, a maximum lot coverage of 51% and a reduction of parking to 27 spaces. If a person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of the Corporation of the City of London or of the Approval Authority to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the City of London before the application is adopted or approved, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.
If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the City of London before the proposed amendment is adopted or approved, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.

Notice of Public Participation Meeting – Meeting of the Civic Works Committee – MN-9258 Darlington Place Registered Plan 33M-773 on January 19, 2021 not to be heard before 12:05 PM, City Hall, Council Chambers, 300 Dufferin Avenue. 

The Civic Works Committee will be holding a Public Participation Meeting to receive delegations and their comments regarding the renaming of Darlington Place to Barn Swallow Place on Registered Plan 33M-773. Information regarding the above-noted matter is posted on the City of London’s website at www.london.ca.  Written submissions regarding this matter to be included on the Civic Works Committee Added Agenda for the meeting should be submitted by no later than 9:00 a.m. on Monday, January 18, 2021 either delivered or mailed to the City Clerk’s Office, Room 308, 300 Dufferin Ave P.O. Notice of Study Commencement - Windermere Road Improvements - Municipal Class Environmental Assessment
The City of London is undertaking a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) to identify intersections, active transportation, transit and accessibility improvements to the Windermere Road corridor between the Western Road and Doon Drive.
The study is being undertaken in accordance with the requirements for Schedule ‘C’ projects within the Municipal Class EA document (2000, as amended in 2007, 2011 and 2015), under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act. The first Public Information Centre (PIC) will be held in spring (2021) to present the problems and opportunities, existing environmental conditions, and alternative solutions. Notice of Study Commencement - Hamilton Road and Gore Road Intersection - Municipal Class Environmental Assessment

The City of London has initiated a Class Environmental Assessment Study for improvements to the intersection of Hamilton Road and Gore Road. The City identified the need to accommodate the increasing amount of traffic and address the safety concerns of pedestrians, cyclists and motorists at this intersection.
This project is being carried out in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Assessment Act under Schedule ‘B’ of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA). To learn more about this study, please visit the project website:
