To help manage noxious and invasive weeds and other vegetation along roadway medians, the City of London will be spraying herbicide at various median locations across the city. Weather permitting, the spraying will begin on August 10 and is scheduled to be complete by September 5, 2020.

For this work, the City will be using the following product,

Roundup WeatherMAX with Transorb 2 Technology Liquid Herbicide (Reg# 27487), containing the active ingredients of Glyphosate, present as Potassium Salt under the Pest Control Products Act (Canada).

Herbicides are regulated in Ontario under the Pesticides Act. The City is completing the herbicide spraying under the Public Works Exemption of the Cosmetic Pesticides Ban to the promotion of public health and safety.

Safety is the central focus with the herbicide spraying activities. The application is weather dependent and will only be applied when conditions are appropriate. All crew members are certified to handle and apply herbicides under the Pesticide Act in the Province of Ontario.

Following the spraying, residents and their pets should not enter the median locations until the herbicide is dry and after 48 hours has passed since the area was treated.
