Hamilton and Trafalgar Infrastructure Renewal Project moves to Stage Two

City of London
Public Service Announcement
August 6, 2020

Starting Friday, August 7, Trafalgar Street from Egerton Street to Oak Street will be closed to motorists for approximately four months. This closure is part of the infrastructure renewal project that is occurring at the intersection of Hamilton Road, Egerton Street and Trafalgar Street.

As construction on this project moves into Stage Two, Hamilton Road, east of Egerton Street, will be reopened to both east and westbound road users. Egerton Street south of Hamilton Road will also be opened to all. But Egerton Street, north of the Hamilton and Trafalgar intersection, will remain closed.

Westbound motorists and cyclists from Highbury Avenue should consider using Hamilton Road, instead of Trafalgar Street, in line with the signed detour. All existing detour signage in the construction zone will be updated.

Bike lanes on Trafalgar will be closed during construction.

Cyclists and pedestrians are encouraged to avoid passing through the project and should consider Hamilton Road as an alternative route.

LTC will return to their regularly scheduled route on Hamilton Road. See the LTC website for current information.
