Family Day recreation opportunities and activities

Family Day is Monday, February 21 and the City of London has fun activities for you and your loved ones to take part in across the city.

Drop-in recreation programs

Take part in free open gym, soccer and pickleball drop-in programs at the new East Lions Community Centre or South London Community Centre. Sessions are open for the entire family to enjoy. Registration is required.

Recreational swim sessions will be available at East Lions Community Centre and South London Community Pool. Lane swims, aquafit, parent and tot and recreation swim sessions will be available at Canada Games Aquatics Centre. Admission is $6.00 per adult, $5.00 for seniors and $4.25 per child for aquatics program sessions. Registration is required.

Indoor and outdoor skating

Enjoy free outdoor skating at Victoria Park ice rink from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and at the Rotary Rink outside of Covent Garden Market from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., with DJ Skates taking place outside the Market from 12 to 4 p.m.

Free indoor public skate sessions will also be available at Argyle Arena and Lambeth Arena. Registration is required. Register for free indoor skating online.

Storybook Gardens’ skating trail sessions will be available on Family Day, with registration required. Admission is $4.50 per adult and $3.50 per child, with skate rentals available for $6.50 per person on a first come, first serve basis. Register for a skating trail session.

City of London Office Closures

City of London offices will be closed on Monday, February 21, including the services offered at the following locations:

  • City Hall, 300 Dufferin Avenue
  • Citi Plaza, 355 Wellington Street, 2nd Floor
  • Social Services Offices (Citi Plaza, London East, Northland Mall, Westmount Shopping Centre)
  • Provincial Offences Office, 824 Dundas Street

With the exception of East Lions Community Centre, South London Community Centre, Argyle Arena, Lambeth Arena and Canada Games Aquatics Centre, all community centres and arenas will be closed on Monday, February 21.
