Overnight Parking Ban is lifted starting tonight

Starting tonight, April 30, Londoners will no longer need to register for an overnight parking pass to park their vehicles on City streets overnight.

Residents and visitors can park on streets for up to 18 hours at a time. This applies to personal vehicles only and not to commercial motor vehicles, mobile homes or trailers as these have their own parking regulations.

Londoners are reminded that all other parking regulations remain in place including parking where otherwise prohibited or restricted, such as in front of fire hydrants, on boulevards, front lawns, or streets identified by signs as being enforced. Before parking, Londoners should look for street signage that indicates whether parking is not permitted on that street or can see the list of streets where overnight parking is prohibited.

Londoners will not need to register for an overnight parking pass until overnight parking restrictions come back into effect on November 1, 2020.

Updates to the overnight parking ban

On March 24, 2020, London’s City Council approved the amendment of the overnight parking program in place between November 1 and April 30 annually. Previously, the overnight parking restriction was in effect from Labour Day weekend to Victoria Day weekend, inclusive.

In addition, Council approved the amendment to extend the limit on occupying an on-street, non-metered parking location from 12 hours to 18 hours.

Between November 1 until April 30, drivers are required to use an overnight parking pass between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m.
