Dundas Street weekend road closures set to continue: Dundas Street between Talbot and Wellington Streets

Following a successful August pilot, the City of London, in partnership with Downtown London BIA, is continuing the Dundas Street weekend road closure between Talbot and Wellington streets until the end of the sidewalk patio season – October 16, 2020. This area of Dundas Place has become a pedestrian and cycling shared space on weekends as part of a pilot project supporting economic recovery.

Vehicle traffic will be unable to travel east or west along Dundas Street between Talbot and Wellington Streets during these times:

  • Between Friday at 4 p.m. and Saturday at 5 a.m.
  • Between Saturday at 4 p.m. and Monday at 5 a.m. This includes all day Sunday.

The continued road closures are intended to support opportunities for businesses on Dundas Place, and to provide visitors more space for physical distancing. The decision comes after monitoring the previous weekends’ road closures and collected feedback from the Downtown London BIA and businesses.

Temporary loading zones in the area will be continued to support delivery and pickups.

The intersection of Dundas Street and Clarence Street remain open for vehicle traffic traveling north and south. Visitors to the core are reminded that Richmond Street, from Dundas to York Streets, remains closed as part of Stage One of the Downtown Sewer Separation Project.

While Dundas Place is open, health measures remain in place to stop the spread of COVID-19 in the community. Please continue to maintain physical distancing and follow all social gathering guidelines.
