City of London spray pads set to open

With this afternoon’s announcement that spray pads are also permitted to open tomorrow, most City spray pads will be ready to welcome people starting tomorrow. Operators will work as quickly as possible Saturday to turn the spray pad features on for Londoners to enjoy.

Spray pads operate between 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. daily.  A list of spray pad activation features and locations can be found at www.london.ca/aquatics.

Residents are reminded that spray pads are unsupervised, and while they are checked and cleaned daily, staff will not be sanitizing all features or play areas. Londoners should wash or sanitize their hands after use.

As spray pads open, residents are reminded that health measures remain in place to stop the spread of COVID-19. These measures include the following:

  • Maintain no less than two metres of physical distance from other families using the spray pads
  • Sneeze or cough into your sleeve or elbow or cover with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash
  • Follow all social gatherings guidelines
  • Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer for at least 20 seconds following use

Signs will be posted at each of the spray pad locations reminding visitors about all health measures and precautions.

Because there are repairs currently underway, the Lambeth and Rowntree spray pads will remain closed.
