City of London pausing Talbot Street Church day space

Out of an abundance of caution following two positive COVID-19 cases, the City of London has closed the downtown day space at Talbot Street Church.

The City of London, together with community partners, is working in full cooperation with the Middlesex-London Health Unit (MLHU) in response to this. With the most up to date criteria and guidance from MLHU, multiple close contacts have been identified. Any staff who were working during that time and were in close contact with the individuals have been identified and have either been tested or have been directed to be tested, and will be self-isolating for 14 days.

Winding down operations at the downtown day space today, which is part of the Emergency Winter Response Relief program, is one week ahead of the planned closure of the location on March 31, 2021.

The day space at the Hamilton Road Seniors’ Centre continues to remain open. Staff are accommodating individuals at the Hamilton Road day space from the downtown location who may have been displaced and are in need of a day space services. All COVID-19 precautions remain in place at the Hamilton Road location.

At all times, staff who provide services to individuals are in full personal protective equipment for their protection and for the protection of those they serve.

The City of London remains diligent in following all health precautions in place to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

Out of respect for individual privacy, no additional details about the positive cases will be provided.
