Please note that in advance of Park construction activities commencing, Sifton Properties will be implementing improvements on their adjacent private developments at 460 and 550 Berkshire Drive. These improvements will reduce vehicle access/operations in the park and will contribute to an improved and safer park environment. Questions regarding work on private property should be directed to Sifton Properties at 519-434-1000.

Greenway Park and Greenway Off-Leash Dog Park
In 2024 and 2025, the City of London will be making improvements at the Greenway Wastewater Treatment Plant to improve flood protection and our resiliency to climate change.
- The construction work will mainly consist of building an earth berm around the perimeter of the Greenway Wastewater Treatment Plant but will use walls in certain locations due to the nature of the terrain and footprint limitations. This work will require a significant amount of large construction machinery (i.e., excavators, loaders, dump trucks and cranes). It will impact the surrounding areas and some city amenities will be disrupted.
- Thames Valley Parkway (TVP) / Terry Fox Parkway: At a certain phase of the project, it is expected that a closure of Terry Fox Parkway and the TVP will be required to facilitate work along the north side of Greenway Wastewater Treatment Plant. “No Through Access” in either direction will be possible through the active construction zone for the safety of the public. It is anticipated that the closure could be as long as six months, starting in late 2024 and lasting until spring of 2025.
- Greenway Off-leash Dog Park: The anticipated closure of the Terry Fox Parkway and TVP is expected to affect vehicle access to the off-leash dog park for the duration of the work. The dog park will remain open, but it will only be able to be accessed by foot or bicycle from Wonderland Road. Visit the City’s Off Leash Dog Park page here for a list of other Dog Parks in the City for accessible options during that time. When timing details are confirmed, they will be posted to the Get Involved webpage here.

Kiwanis Park - North
The existing tennis courts in Kiwanis Park North are in poor condition and replacing the courts in the current location is not an option due to provincially regulated archaeological considerations in the area. Additionally, the current location does not meet today’s requirements for proper spacing from private property lines. To address these issues, there is an opportunity to restore the existing tennis courts with turf and construct new tennis courts – or a different type of sports court – east of the existing washroom building.
In the summer 2024, there was an opportunity for the community to provide feedback as to what sports court (ie. tennis, pickleball, or basketball) should be included in Kiwanis Park North. The City of London would like to thank all who participated in completing the online survey. The City is currently in the process of reviewing the feedback. Lambeth Centennial Park
A lifecycle replacement of the existing boardwalk is now generally complete. This project provides benefits from a climate change and adaptation perspective and includes ecological restoration to enhance local habitat. Murray Park
In the spring of 2024, there was an opportunity for the community to provide feedback as to what features and amenities should be included in Murray Park. As a result, the City of London received very positive feedback and would like to thank all who participated in completing the online survey.
Based on public input, improvements to Murray Park will include the following:
- The existing playground will be replaced with new nature themed equipment that provides a variety of play experiences. Please refer to the attached concepts under ‘Playground Concepts’ in the section to the right. The safety surfacing in the play area will remain as engineered woodchips. Please note that the existing swings will remain in the second circle.
- The west mini soccer field (closest to the forested area) will be retained for unprogrammed recreational activities. The eastern field will be removed and re-purposed.
- Existing sports lights will be removed.
- The existing tennis court will be removed, and one full sized basketball court will be constructed in the park.
- New seating and picnic areas will be added.

- New tree planting.
- The City has also set a space aside for a possible future park amenity based on future public input (ie. Neighbourhood Decision Making Idea).
Construction for the above improvements is planned for late summer/fall 2024. Please note that the schedule is dependent on weather conditions.
Future Park Improvements (timing to be determined) will include the following:
- Upgrades to the existing wading pool and washroom building.
- A future plaza/patio space to help support pedestrian gathering near the wading pool.
