Momentum: Moving Forward Together:
Registration is now open for Momentum: Moving Forward Together - A Youth
Issues Conference. The event will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at
the Huron Dining Hall – 1349 Western Rd. from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm. It is
presented by the London Youth Council and the Middlesex-London Health
Unit and is part of Youth Create Healthy Communities and National Youth
Week in London.
Anger Awareness Group from WAYS:
Explore the connection between thoughts, feelings and actions.
Learn methods to cope with strong emotions. Open to males and
females aged 14-17.
2010 Acorn Fund for Youth Grants:
Do you have a passion for improving your community? The London Community
Foundation’s Acorn Fund for Youth provides funding for youth-led
projects and initiatives in London and Middlesex County. Maximum grant
is $1,500. Deadline is April 16th.
J. Allyn Taylor Youth Award Call for
Nominations: The London Community Foundation is now
inviting nominations from youth centres, schools, youth councils and
other sources for the J. Allyn Taylor Community Service Award. The award
winner receives a $500 tuition payment to college or university, and a
$500 grant to the winner’s centre or charity of choice. Deadline is
March 23, 2010.
Friends Growth Program:
Craigwood
Youth Services and Western Area Youth Services (WAYS) are partnering to
offer a new anxiety related group for young people 12 - 15 years of age.
United Way Youth in Action Fund:
The application process is now open. Application deadline is
March 15, 2010. The Youth in Action fund is designed to promote
youth-led, community driven projects. Successful applicants can
receive up to $1,000.
YouthConnect.ca:
Youth Connect is a cool website for young people in Ontario looking to
explore their future. Some of the topics covered are job programs,
school options and apprenticeships. It has funky tunes, videos and
stories about programs in Ontario and the young people who participate
in them.
