City of London Traffic Volume Data

Street trafficDid you know that Wellington Road between Commissioners and Southdale is London's most travelled section of roadway carrying 46,000 vehicles per day?

Using our interactive map you can view traffic flow volumes throughout the city. The numbers given represent the annual average daily traffic (AADT), measured in thousands of vehicles. You'll find a graphic key in the menu on the left of the map that identifies the type of roadway, i.e., arterial street, expressway and so on.

Truck route information is also available. CityMap shows routes that are available 24-hours a day as well as those where trucks are permitted only between 7 am and 6 pm.

The City of London has been collecting traffic volume data since 1981. We compile information using automated counters supplemented with manual counts of vehicles and pedestrians at intersections.

CityMap can also help you plan alternate transportation such as taking a bus or using London's 137 kilometre pathway system for the self-powered options of walking, cycling or rollerblading.
