Sewer Operations: Maintaining the System
The City's storm and sanitary sewers need on-going inspection
and maintenance to ensure that they work properly, and continue to protect the
health and property of the public. City staff assess and respond to
problems through long-term monitoring, computer modeling, video and sonar

What a difference that makes on a street! No ripped up road,
sidewalks, lawns. No closed roads. The crew completes its work in half a day
versus the 1-3 days that it would take to dig the PDC up. Although not all PDCs can be
lined a large percentage can. Since implementing the PDC lining program the City
has been able to reduce the average cost of a PDC replacement by 20%. This
savings is passed along to the property owner and to the citizens of London.
