Moving towards a sustainable, long term financial position is vital to managing the City's sewer infrastructure.  Maintenance of aging infrastructure and construction of new infrastructure ensures the health of the sewer system and the public at large.  The Sewer System Surcharge ensures that London will have adequate funding to provide adequate sewer and wastewater treatment services as identified in the 20-Year Sewer System Plan.
