Recycling in London - Sort it Right!
 

Use separate Blue Boxes for paper and containers.  We all win when recycling is done correctly. When recycling is not done right, it costs taxpayers $250,000 per year. Help us cut our costs.
 

Keep Them Separated

 

What materials can't be recycled in the Blue Box program?

    

ceramics dark coloured paper
paper tissues/towels wrapping paper
waxed coffee and beverage cups/lids plate glass, broken glass
construction paper StyrofoamTM (i.e., cups, packaging)
wood waxed or foil coated paper
plastic bags (return to your local grocery store) propane cylinders

General Recycling Requirements

  • Set your recyclables at the curbside by 7 a.m., but no earlier than 6 p.m. the night before.

  • Empty and rinse containers

  • Flatten boxes

  • Flatten and tie cardboard into bundles no larger than 75 cm X 75 cm X 20 cm (30" X 30" X 8").

  • Maximum weight of recycling containers is 18 kilograms (40 lbs).
