| As Canada's 10th largest centre, London is the regional hub for
Southwestern Ontario and a great place to live, work, play and
visit. Often referred to as The Forest City, ours is a beautiful
community with a multitude of trees, parks and pathways, and a rich
tapestry of arts, culture and heritage.
Working together, we have developed an innovative plan to position London
within the top rank of Canadian municipalities, and as Mayor, I am proud
to advocate for our great city on the national front as an active member
of the Big City Mayors’ Caucus (BCMC) and the
Federation of Canadian
Municipalities (FCM).
It is a privilege to co-chair a National Housing Committee with Vancouver
Mayor Sam Sullivan, and to lobby the Federal Government to action a
National Housing Strategy and provide cities with sustainable funding
for infrastructure.
Being ranked within the Top Five "North American Small Cities of the
Future" by fDi Magazine, it is equally important for London to
capitalize on its amazing local strengths. In this way, I’m excited by
the success of the
Round Table Series
focused on emerging economic opportunities for our city in energy, life
sciences, advanced manufacturing and agri-business. |

| It’s also encouraging to witness the ongoing work of
members of the
Mayor's Task Force to End Woman Abuse, who have rallied across
our community to bring about positive change for London’s most
vulnerable citizens.
Every day, Londoners breathe life into all aspects of our fine city to
ensure prosperity is bountiful and compassion is evident. Thanks for
visiting our website, and I hope you will agree that great things are
indeed growing in The Forest City!
Sincerely,
Anne Marie DeCicco-Best
