Green Bin Pilot Project

The Pilot Project in the Glen Cairn & Pond Mills neighbourhood, which approximately 750 homes, was completed on November 8, 2012.  This is part of London's environmental leadership strategy and was a first step in London's potential implementation of a city-wide Green Bin program.  Decisions about a city-wide Green Bin program will be based in part on what we learned from the pilot neighbourhood, participation rates and resident feedback.  This information combined with other data (quantities collected, cost of program, etc.) will be included in a report to be presented to Municipal Council in early 2013. Council will review options for a program expansion or alternatives at that time.
