Running for Office in Municipal Elections

Nominations for the 2010 Municipal Election of London's Mayor,  Ward Councillors and School Board Trustees were filed at the City Clerk's office from January 4, 2010 to September 10, 2010.  Information available to candidates and the public included:

• Offices to be Elected and Candidate Information Package published by the City of London as well as The Municipal Elections 2010 Guide issued by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing Municipal Services Office. Note: These three documents are pdf files.
   
• Overview of  the role fulfilled by the Mayor & Ward Councillors and School Board Trustees.
   
• Specific aspects of conducting a campaign such as the Right to Canvass, Accessibility considerations and requirements of the Election Sign By-law.
   
• Candidate Financial Responsibilities including aspects such as Contributions & Fundraising, Campaign Expenses and Financial Reporting using the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing Auditor’s Report: Form 4).
